A successful Investor Relations program consists of a proactive, direct and comprehensive strategy, all of which ensures exposure among investors. Companies that communicate frequently, forthrightly and thoughtfully are rewarded with more loyal shareholders, reduced share price volatility and more rapid appreciation as milestones are achieved.
Furthermore, companies that have an established base of institutional investors can typically raise capital for acquisitions within 15 business days.

Communicate, Communicate, and then Communicate Some More;
Consistency, Simplicity, and Repetition

A successful Investor Relations program consists of a proactive, direct and comprehensive strategy, all of which ensures exposure among investors. Companies that communicate frequently, forthrightly and thoughtfully are rewarded with more loyal shareholders, reduced share price volatility and more rapid appreciation as milestones are achieved.
Furthermore, companies that have sufficient trading volume/liquidity and an established base of institutional investors can typically raise capital for acquisitions within 30 business days.

Attracting Individual Investors – Information…Providing factual information to retail investors, excluding hype and promises, is the best method to attract new retail investors. Typically the best process is to provide the retail investor with information, spend time on the phone outlining the company’s current operations and growth plan, and ALWAYS answering their calls, all of which will result in a long term investor. Typically, an individual investor does not conduct the due diligence and channel checking an institutional investor does, this said, providing factual information will suffice.

Attracting Institutional Investors – A survey of 500 money managers who invest in small- and mid-cap companies (companies with a market valuation of less than $500 million) identified that 98% of all buy-side money managers that were queried rated ‘information about a public company in an easy to read format that takes less than 5 minutes to read’ (A Fact Sheet, also referred to as a Teaser) as their preferred method of being introduced to a company for their initial investment consideration. The vast majority, 96% considered one-on-one meetings as a requirement prior to an investment in a small- and mid-cap company. Less than 48% favored general conference calls and less than 29% use a company website as a source of information.

INVESTOR RELATIONS IS THE SIMPLE ACT OF PROVIDING INFORMATION TO INVESTORS.

Investors base their investment decisions on facts, not on hype or based on an email or a cold call promoting a public company.

Investors, retail and institutional alike, want information and more importantly they want the opportunity to be able to speak to someone – not a voice message that instructs people to leave a message. Andrew Barwicki speaks to investors daily. He answers calls and spends the appropriate amount of time on the phone with an investor, regardless if the investor managers millions of dollars, or a retail investor with minimal amount available to invest.

STRATEGY

Prior to launching an investor relations program for a company, Andrew Barwicki and the client determine if the IR program should target institutional investors, brokers and/or retail investors.

One size does not fit all, this said, upon determining the type of an investor to target, a comprehensive investor relations plan and strategy is agreed upon, then implemented and maintained.

INVESTORS
Andrew Barwicki has three proprietary databases of investors; (i) 73,000 institutional investors (money, fund and portfolio managers), (ii) 84,500 stock brokers / financial advisors, and (iii) 101,700 individual investors (retail investors).
These databases are REAL databases that are continuously being ‘cleaned & updated’ and consist of real investors – not purchased lists of magazine subscriptions or internet based lists.

Andrew Barwicki has established business relationships with 950+ institutional investors (money, fund and portfolio managers) that invest directly into a company by participating in a capital raise (PIPE, IPO, DPO, and Secondary Offering), open market purchases and private stock transactions with insiders and/or large shareholders unaffiliated with the public company.
